Why do families love Amani?
The Arts
Our Sing for Hope Global Arts Curriculum delivers music and arts classes in every grade. Theater productions are staged every winter and spring. Amani is home to two artist-painted Sing for Hope pianos. Students perform at United Nations, transit hubs all over NYC and at local events.
Library
Our school library has over 10,000 books, and a full-time librarian. Authors visit every year. There is an annual book fair, poetry readings and read-a-longs. From kindergarten through grade 8, the Amani School Library is a special place and a student fave.
Intramural Sports
Amani offers intramural sports for boys and girls, including basketball, track, volleyball and flag football. There is also a step team and a cheerleading squad. Cheer team won 1st place in the fiercely competitive 2026 City Schools Sports Association championship. Go Eagles!
Strong School Culture
Deans are trained on anti-bullying practices and DASA. Two social workers, nurse, uniforms, community circle make Amani a safe and nurturing school. Social and emotional learning drive academic success.
Meals, with Love
Breakfast and lunch are served, at no cost to families. Plus, we have several filtered drinking water fountains. It’s a small touch that means a lot to both students and staff. Bring your favorite sports water bottle and fill up.
Digital Creator Lab
Student creators produce a livestreamed video podcast every week where they talk about school, local news and national issues affecting their lives. You will be amazed by their conversations and interviews.
